Hello HPJimbo

Sorry about the confusion and I appreciate your caution but the answer is "Yes" the command is valid still. If you get an error when trying it, refer to this document from Microsoft it will explain how to use it on a 64-bit Windows operating system that gives you an error.

Thanks again for your quick response on the HP Forums. Good luck!

Dunidar, thanks for your input for helping me resolving this issue.  I will be out of comm for a few days so will post the results later...  Hopefully this will resolve the issue.

It is very furustrating to purchase a new puter and have all the issues I have had... This one is one of the many I have had, already resolved....  8.0 and 8.1.... some are only apps related...

This is my wife's machine, by the way..  So you can understand...eh?

Thanks for your support...

Well the suggestion did not work....

Step 1. Open the Command prompt
Step 2. Type regsvr32 msi.dll
Step 3. Hit Enter
Step 4. Try installing the 3D DriveGuard software again

regsvr32msi.dll is not avail/missing

After reading and reinstalling Drive Guard the the same errors were occuring.

The wife is so upset I think she's headed out to get an Apple Mac....

So I got out my backup disc's and am now reverting back to 8.0, get clean and start over...

Guess I am through with this thread...

Thanks Dunidar for your help....

Hello MCGerald

I think you are on the right track but you need to ensure that the version of 3D DriveGuard you have installed is completely uninstalled. When you uninstall the program be sure you restart the computer before you try to install the newer version and double check to ensure that there is no 3D DriveGuard still installed. Once you are 100% sure that it is uninstalled than download and install the version you have been trying to install as that is the correct version of the software for you to be using.

I hope this helps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great weekend!

Hello MCGerald

I am sorry that did not resolve your issue. If I could get you to post a screen shot of your Device Manager so that I can see how the 3D DriveGuard is currently installed that would be very helpful.

I look forward to your post. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
