I have a HP Envy TouchmSmart m7-j078ca.

I updated the BIOS to F.64 using the HP Support Assistant.

The install and verifying phase went to 100%, the computer restart, the screen flash a couple of time.

The HP Bios Update screen re-appear and displayed "Initializing..."

The fan start blowing at max speed, although no heat came out.

It stay like that for at least an hour or so.

The power button was not responding.

So I unplug the AC and the battery.

Wait a few minute, replug the battery and the AC.

Start the computer, press F10 to go in the BIOS setup configuration

Select the Setup Defaults

Select the Save and Exit.

The computer starts and windows Starts, so far everyting is working.

But how to make sure everything is ok?

Hi @Reverso

Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you were having a BIOS problem and are looking to make sure that everything is working okay. You can test your operating system for corruptions using the System File Checker Tool. There are built in UEFI Diagnostic Tools that you can test the hardware for problems. You didn't mention which operating system you are using so I have included two documents below that will show how to test the hardware.

Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7)
