<<!!MEMORY UPGRADING SHOULD NOT BE THIS COMPLICATED!!>>
Chassis: HP Compaq 6000 Pro Small Form Factor
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @3.00GHz
RAM: 2x1 GB
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit
I can add more spec info on request.
Recently saved this PC from my friend trying to throw it away. Nothing is wrong with the PC. It runs perfectly and there are no visible hardware failure wihtin the PC either. He just bought a new one and had no need for this one.
Before I turn this into a mutli-purpose home server, I decided to upgrade the RAM.
So I did some reseach and found this page: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01883661
DDR3, 240 pin DIMM, 1333MHz, non-ECC, Max 4GB per DIMM slot, Total Max 16GB.
So I went and bought Corsair RAM. Link to product: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/cmv4gx3m1a1333c9
I decided to get 2x4GB and upgrade later if I felt the need.
I was excited to install them in the PC. one in the DIMM 1 slot and the other in the DIMM 2 slot.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!
I thought that maybe the slots were wrong, maybe they have to go odd numbers then even numbers.
So I changed the RAM from DIMM 2 to DIMM 3.
Again, the annoying beeping.
I even tried just leaving the 4GB in DIMM 1 and tried to boot the PC but to no avail.
I tried many different combinations with the end result being 5 annoying beeps.
After that I thought maybe, just maybe, a BIOS update might change things.
So I installed Windows 7 (I can't stand Windows. Arch Linux FTW), and performed a BIOS update.
I then installed the new RAM again. Yes... 5 frickin beeps AGAIN.
I am extremely dissappointed at this point. I've spent 70 bucks on a free computer already.
I have read the forums here but I couldn't find a thread with a solution for me.
Is there anyone on this forum who could lend me a helping hand?
Any information would be gladly appreciated.
P.S. Please point out any stupid mistakes I have made. Even stick and stones couldn't brake my bones.

Hi:
See this related post...the 8000 Elite is basically the same model as the 6000 Pro.
Very finnicky memory requirements...

You're very welcome.
Please let us know if that memory worked for your PC too.
The only difference between your model and mine is that yours has the Intel Q43 Express Chipset and mine has the Intel Q45 Express Chipset.
I assume that the processor in your model is the E8400 (3 GHz) which is the same one in mine.
