see if you can work this out. HP Elitebook 2350p, can load and run XP (32 or 64) and its fine, but try to install Win 7 (32 or 64) and it hangs after the reboot, logs give no clue, same with any flavour of linux including Lubuntu which runs on anything. The XP run absolutely perfectly, it was running Win 7 then a failed update (Well thats what the logs said) caused a myriad of problems. So tried to reload, failed, then Linux failed. But XP works. So..... (Sits back smuggly and waits...)
I have done all that, everything is fine, I am not a novice.I build computers for a living, just never seen this problem before.
I can load XP (32 or 64) from disc or usb drive, it works fine. If I try to load Win 7 from any media it goes through normally until it reboots, then it hangs a t the pulsing Win symbol. I have tried with Linux and the same result, just hangs.
I have tried every combination of bios setting, changed RAM, HD everything I can think of, it must be something on the motherboard. I do not have a spare one of those.
This is more an exercise in futility lol.
