Elitebook 8440p

For the proud owners of the Elitebook 8440p with the original standard size battery:

1. How long does your battery last?

1a.   Roughly what kind of tasks and what percentage of time are you devoting to those tasks to get that amount of battery life?

2.  If you are using a replacement battery, is it a genuine HP replacement, or a third party manufacturer?

2a. If it is a 3rd party battery,  what brand is it, how much did you pay for it, and where can it be purchased?

The only people who are going to read this are the Experts and maybe a few others others with the same problem. Are you having an issue with the battery?

If you are running a PC game, then the battery drains out very quickly and if you are running a very light task, like reading a document, the battery would last long.

I consider the battery of my PC as a backup power source and use the ac adapter wherever I have an option to plug it in.

Litium-Ion batteries have a limited life time and their ability or retain charge and provide backup decreases with time and usage. This holds true for any battery, be it notebook or cell phone; branded or 3rd party.

Since I have an ultrabook, my battery lasts around 4 hours on most occassions with regular use with Wifi and other devices plugged in.

Its always good to turn off wireless and reduce the screen brightness and disconnect power hungry devices from your notebook if you are running on battery power. This will give you more battery backup.
