Hi,
I bought HP Envy 15 notebook on 26th September 2014. Its wireless network was working good for a year and now suddenly disappeared from the drivers list. If I restart my laptop in safe mode with network then some time I can see the wireless driver named as: Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter
When I start windows in normal mode then I don't see any wifi network or network drivers in device manager. I also restarted system back to OS image file but it did not help me to solve he problem.
Product number:G0T55AV
Serial number:[Personal Information Removed]
Can someone from HP help me on this.

Hi @Girish_1,
Welcome to the HP Forums!:smileyhappy:
It is a grand locale to find answers and tips!
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide:
I grasp that you have had your notebook since September 201 and the wireless was working well. Now you have lost your wireless and it is not seen in Device Manager. If you start in safe mode sometimes it is listed and other times it is not.
In normal mode it is not seen in Device Manager. If I have understood correctly you have done a recovery back to factory, but there was no change.
If you go to Device Manager and show hidden icons is listed?
If you scan for hardware changes does it show?
Here is a link to HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 😎 that could help.
I would also run a hardware test on the network card. HP Notebook PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 10, 😎
If you are not in warranty you can also try reseating the NIC card. If you are in warranty as this is not a customer replaceable part this step may void your warranty.
Should you be considering replacing the NIC card yourself here is a link to the HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. Please note chapter 3, page 19, item 5 for the recommended replacements.
Please let me know the outcome.

Hello @Sparkles1,
Thanks for your support and information.
Today I again set it back to "Minimized Image recovery " recovery mode without connecting my laptop to Internet through LAN. I restored windows successfully . I found all the near by WiFi was listed and I was able to see following drivers in my Device Manager list:
Qualicomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b|g|n Wifi Adapter
Realek PCe GBE Family Controller
When I connected to my Wifi It worked around 4 minutes and hung my PC. I forcefully restarted my PC and I was unable to see Wifi connection in my Wifi List.
I checked list of Adpater in device manager and it was showing only one :
Realek PCe GBE Family Controller
I checked hidden drivers and I could see "Qualicomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b|g|n Wifi Adapter" in disabled mode.
Now I can connect through LAN but unable to see my WiFi connection. whenever I see list of Wifi connection then It hung after 5-10 minutes even without connecting to any Wifi. Meaning Some time I can see Wifi connection in list and my Laptop hung afte 5-10 minutes. If I don't see any Wifi connect then my Laptop works fine.
Please suggest what needs to be done.

Hi @Girish_1,
Thank you for your update.
When the wireless card is being seen please run a hardware test on it. If it passes the test, then please follow the troubleshooting provided in my previous post while it is visible.
Please post the results.
Good Luck and Happy Holidays!
