I've been looking everywhere for a fix, and neither HP nor Envy users have managed to find something that actually works...I've had a hard time saving up for this laptop, but now I utterly regret my decision. Wireless AND keyboard problems?! C'mon HP! Never again. Switching to Lenovo in one year or so.

HP is totally mess for me. i have no use of laptop without wifi. its just like entertainment tool instead of bussiness or job.

After reading a couple of posts blaming this issue on the bluetooth services, I decided to try and disable them to see if I could get positive results. (HP Envy Touchsmart m6-k105dx, Windows 8.1)

step1. Open a command prompt as an administrator

step2. type msconfig         and press enter

step3. A system configuration window will open. Click on the services tab.

step4. Find the processes from the manufacturer "Motorolla Solutions, Inc." (should be 2 Bluetooth processes)

step5. Uncheck the boxes for both and click apply. Restart your PC.

At this point my issue was resolved. I have not attempted to use my bluetooth function since I did this, but these steps seem to have stabilized my wireless connection. Until HP releases an official fix, this would be my best reccomendation.

All,

I got my wireless work by delete all of the other wireless drivers (blue tooth, etc.) except the one I needed.

It has been working fine for about 2 months.

Good luck everyone.

PLEASE help! I'm beyond frustrated in not being able to understand or fix the fact I cannot get a Internet connection. Same song as everyone else. I have plenty of devices that work perfectly fine.

PS- can I just take this to the location purchased, Costco, and get it fixed? I'm trying to plan a wedding and honeymoon? If not Costco then where and please confirm this is a free service

Hondaharde,

Only Costco can answer those questions officially. Here is a link to their return info.

So unofficially speaking, they have a 90 day return policy or 90 days to call their support number. If your not happy with an item, they take it back.

Otherwise, you have to contact HP Support for your area yourself for info on where to get it serviced.

I am having the same problem and am so completely disappointed with HP.  I called HP on 3 occasions, spent hours workring with  the support group, one even accesssed my laptop - and eventually, I was told that I shoudl return the laptop to Best Buy and get another one .  Not a  word that this is a problem they are awaare of - and none of the 3 persons I workedd with even offiered the solution offered above.

I went back to Best Buy and exchanged the laptop for another identical machine (it had been less than 15 days since my purchase).  Same problem.   I am currently using the old  5-year old Dell I intended to replace.

I will follow the instructions  provided above and disable - but users should not ahve to choose between the features - Blutooth? or internet access?  not good enough.  completely disgusted.   Is the company even following these posts!!

never buy HP laptops

1.Overheating

2.wiFi problems

3.Bluetooth problems

4.Worst customer support (Online or OFFline)
