I would just like to say I am indebted to the poster, I was in the same situation having cleaned the fan with compressed air then it packed up on me.  I used an unbent paperclip and gently made the fan spin manually until boom out flies dust and the fan fired up again,SUCH a relief so many thanks!

Thanks for your post!  Was dealing with a similar headache.  After vacuuming, then removing the vent covers to clean more dust out with a blow dryer on cool, the fan still wouldn't spin.   With a flashlight I saw a long hair of the dog in the fan.  Used a paperclip to carefully remove it, then very carefully pushed the fan blades until it finally spun freely. Turned on my notebook, fan works perfectly.  Thank you so much!!
