I have an HP G71-340US that is running slower everyday. It has 4GB of RAM. How much can I upgrade it to? The product specs show 8MB while the maintenance and service guide show a max. of 4MB. Which is correct?

Yes, You can upgrade to 8GB ,but you have to install 64bit OS to get the full 8GB support, 32bit OS only supports 4GB...may be you service manual said that...

You can upgrade upto 8GB ...see the specification

Yes, I saw the specs stated 8GB. So, I should believe them over the HP G71 Maintenance and Service Manual which says max of 4GB. I couldn't tell which one was the latest.

Yes, my G71 has the 64 bit system, and has been getting slower and slower, especially after installing IE 11. Thank you!
