So I just updated my laptop to Windows 8.1 and I think it deleted my sound driver. This has happened once before and the technology and information center on my campus fixed the problem. Now I am home for the holidays and it happened again but I do not know what they did to fix it. There is a speaker built into the laptop that has the beats audio sign on it. When I clicked on my sound settings in the control panel it said there were no devices to play audio through, but the laptop has a built in speaker. Please help, I tried rebooting and downloading a sound driver I found through these forums but neither worked.

What is the exact model of the unit? A product number can typically be found by pressing Fn + Esc (note: this is not the Windows product key).

My dad got home and managed to figure it out so all is fixed. Thank you though.
