I found lots of questions asked, tried five different virus scans, uninstalling keyboard (reinstalled automatically when rebooted). The known keys that are not working: qweruiop arrow keys and delete key.
I've done system restores and even did a factory reset and the keys aren't working. Diagnostics say everything is fine. Any suggestions?

I have read your post on how the keyboard keys on your notebook computer are not working, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!

To return the functionality to your notebook's keyboard, I recommend following this document on Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting (Windows 7). This should help configure the keys on your keyboard for proper use.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

Hello @dollydepp44,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I have read your post on how you are experiencing a similar issue with your notebook's keyboard, and I would be happy to be of assistance!

In order return the functionality of the keyboard, I recommend following this document on Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting (Windows 😎. If the issue continues, I suggest performing a hard reset.

Additionally, I would also encourage you to post your product number for your computer. Below is a is an HP Support document that will demonstrate how to find your computer's product number. In addition, it will also help if you indicate which operating system you are using; and whether your operating system is 32 or 64 bit. The more information you can provide, the better!

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information above. I look forward to your reply!

Hi again dollydepp44,

It is good to hear from you again!

While following the steps in the document above, did the escape key work to bring up the startup menu? Did connecting an external USB keyboard work on your notebook?

If the escape key did not work upon being pressed, I recommend contacting our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

Hi, yes the escape key works fine. I didn't connect a external keyboard as I do not own one 🙂
