Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The DVD burner drive has stopped reading or recording to DVD or CD's also it looks and sounds like the tray is not working right it's making a scratching noise.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I understand you are having an issue with the CD/DVD drive. I will be glad to help you.

 

I normally suggest following the step fromDrive Cannot Read Discs (Windows 10, 😎. But as you are hearing scratching noises, I would start at  step  8,  Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 10, 😎.

I recieved the replacement dvd drive and went to try install it and the old drive drive is not sliding out after removing the screw.  It acting like it's stuck on something.  How much would it be to send in the laptop and drive to get it looked at

Per page 77-78 of the Maintenance and Service Guide. Should just 1 screw to remove from case.

I removed the screw, but the drive is still stuck in the laptop it will not slide out enough to unplug the cable.

the case is stuck I can't get it off.  How much is it to send it in a get repaired a the dvd drive replaced?

I can not get through to support to even see about a repair since I have the dvd drive,   any help you can provide would be grateful.
