I bought a HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC last October and have had various problems with the internet since then. Last year I had to keep resetting my internet settings in order to use university halls internet using an ethernet cable. Having moved into a student house this year my wifi has now become the problem. Since September it has been tempremental at best, but in the past week it has just entirely stopped working regardless of how close to the router I am. I keep being told that the password I'm entering is incorrect even though it isn't. Also, it is definitely an issue with my laptop seeing as my kindle and iPhone have no issues connecting to the wifi, neither do 7 of my other house mates on different types of laptop. However, the one housemate with the exact same laptop as me cannot access the internet either. Please help as I have uni work that is becoming increasingly difficult to do with limited internet access!!

However in the absence of those things, you can look at some of these and see if they help. Just use the ones that apply to your operating system.
