Hi, I had the same problem. I followed the instructions and still it's not working. I tried to then refresh, as is suggested, only to find my control panel isn't opening up properly - nothing shows when it finally stops trying to start, and the refresh itself is not working - just goes on for over an hour and is still telling me to wait!

 

So, by following all this, my situation is worse. The only solution now is to reboot from the original memory stick and spend hours reinstaling stuff and no doubt end up with the same problem in the future. I'm very unimpressed with HP. This is a basic error that is unsolved, and I certainly won't be using HP again and will be recommending others don't too.
