Uninstall the bluetooth driver. The problem is due to the older version of bluetooth driver.
If you are using the Ralink Bluetooth driver. then download latest driver from

Hope the problem gets resolved

Hi,

I have the same always on wifi indicator light problem as well on my HP ENVY TouchSmart Sleekbook 4. Its probably a windows 8.1 related problem for HP pcs with a wifi button light.

I did what you have suggested but still doesn't work. It won't turn red when i switch to airplane mode.

I own a HP Pavilion g6-2320TX and after upgrading to Windows 8.1 from WIndows 8, the indicator NEVER stops glowing white. In other words, when I switch it on it displays white to indicate I switched it on otherwise it shows RED COLOR.

But after upgrading to Windows 8.1, the indicator never goes to RED even after switching off the wifi and blutooth (AIRPLANE MODE ON). On shutdown or sleep, the indicator goes RED before completely shutting dowsn or going into sleep mode. This problem never existed when I was using Windows 8.

Hi Aaron_cv15,

I was wondering if you had tried to do your windows update?

You could do that here. After you download and install please restart your computer.

Is the update you suggested covers Windows 8.1?

My laptop is HP Pavilion g6-2307tx.

EDIT:

The updates you suggested cannot install. A pop up window says "the update is not applicable on your computer".

that is for win 8 not for win 8.1
