Hi Dean,
The log didn't show any errors with the sound at all. I will be keeping an eye on the audio issue as it develops and will post updates as needed. As for the mute button I have a couple of things for you to try. First start by installing the HP Wireless Button driver. This driver effects both wireless and bluetooth and it already works with the keyboard as well so it might have some additional keyboard drivers not mentioned.
If that doesn't work then try installing all the drivers from your Pavilion g6-2210sa driver page. Start with the two chipset drivers and then install everything else. Once that is done if the mute button still isn't work run the HP Support Assistant to check for updates. It is important that install the drivers first because the HP Support Assistant will be looking for HP drivers installed and if you are using generic Windows drivers it won't check for the update.
And speaking of generic drivers, the keyboard driver is a generic Windows driver. It is one of the few devices (along with the CD/DVD drive) that doesn't have specific drivers. So go to your Device Manager and under Keyboards you will see Standard PS/2 Keyboard. Right click it and select uninstall but don't delete the driver. Then restart your computer and Windows will reinstall the driver. This is the simplest of the solutions so I recommend giving this a try first.
Thank you,

I'm having problems with my laptop. The sound doesn't play but the device manager says the drivers are up too date
, tried un installing the driver and rebooting but that didn't help. It's using some idt codec driver to play sound
. It says the files have been corrupted but I tried downloading them but it doesn't want to make a storage location
the fore cancelling the installation.
Can anybody else help?
