VERY interesting.  One of the Optional updates on the remaining list to do is for the AMD Graphics Adapter dated 12/31/2015 for

WDDM1.1, WDDM1.3     released December 2014

& RADEON HD 8750M

RE to be sure I understand your graphics driver install instructions as follows:

1.) You need to install the Intel graphics driver first, reboot and then install the amd graphics driver.

2.) There was a revision to the original amd graphics driver, so see if this one works instead.

Item 1.) link is the Intel graphics driver?

Item 2.) link is the AMD graphics driver?

HP Recommended

That is correct.

Did you try the AMD driver windows update offered?

HP Recommended

OK the latest.  When I have to boot in safe mode because of the following

"btvstack.exe system error

THE PROGRAM CAN NOT START  BECAUSE  API-MS-WIN-DOWNLEVEL-OLE32-L1-1-0.DLL  IS MISSING FROM YOUR COMPUTER.  TRY REINSTALLING THE PROGRAM TO FIX THE PROBLEM."

.........the DOS loading files window scrolling always stops and freezes for a very long time at......

C:\windows\system32\drivers\amdkmpfd.sys

............then eventually the windows welcome screen comes up for password which when typed in the same error msg....

"btvstack.exe system error

THE PROGRAM CAN NOT START  BECAUSE  API-MS-WIN-DOWNLEVEL-OLE32-L1-1-0.DLL  IS MISSING FROM YOUR COMPUTER.  TRY REINSTALLING THE PROGRAM TO FIX THE PROBLEM."

...appears.  I still have access to the windows update history.  The last windows update I ran I only selected the optional update for the AMD Graphics Adapter dated 12/31/2015 for WDDM1.1, WDDM1.3  & RADEON HD 8750M  and it FAILED to install.

Circumstances seem to link the AMD driver to the boot issue.  Suggestions?

HP Recommended

I guess that driver windows update provided is not for the switchable graphics version of the amd graphics adapter.

the btvstack thing has to do with the bluetooth service.

So, don't use any graphics driver updates from windows update and use the ones from HP.

HP Recommended

OK good insight.  What about the the DOS loading files window scrolling always stops and freezes for a very long time at...... C:\windows\system32\drivers\amdkmpfd.sys which appears to be an 'AMD' item which is blue tooth related as you say.   Is that anything that I can manually correct via the AMD driver uninstall if you know?

HP Recommended

The C:\windows\system32\drivers\amdkmpfd.sys is definitely something awry with the AMD graphics adapter.

But the btvstack.exe system error is part of the bluetooth networking software.

Anything you can suggest to correct/deal with the  btvstack.exe system error/bluetooth networking software.  If not is there other HP forum(s) that is focused in that area if such exist?

On  the AMD / Intel driver issue I should again uninstall all existing then install those you suggested correct?

HP Recommended

Googleing btvstack.exe  I found this

http://www.file.net/process/btvstack.exe.html

which points to Qualcom wireless driver which was the type of wireless card driver I installed to get my wireless card up and running re: SP64678.  I also installed a Qualcom network controller driver SP70859.  Could there be a conflict?

Could this have been a incorrect sequence of install issue you mentioned?  Should I try uninstall/reinstall?  Is there a different appropriate wireless card driver for my card available that I should try?

HP Recommended

At this point, the only suggestion I can offer would be to reinstall windows 7, don't do any updates to it until you get the all of the drivers installed.

Install the first 4 drivers in the order I posted (the graphics consisting of installing the Intel graphics first, rebooting and then installing the amd graphics adapter.

The only thing is since there is more than one AMD graphics adapter listed, I have no idea which one is the right one.

I would try sp70013, since you tried the other two and they didn't work.

Then when you do the W7 updates, hide any of the ones pertaining to graphics adapter updates.

You can also post the bluetooth problem in the notebook wireless networking section of the forum, but I would go for the clean install of W7 first and see what happens.
