The Device manager displays the following after video driver installations made per sequence instructed:

Display Adapters

  "!" AMD Radeon HD 8750M

                       PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6600&SUBSYS_1947103C&REV_00

         Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

                       PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0416&SUBSYS_1947103C&REV_06

Device status on the AMD is

"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the the drivers required for this device.  A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.(Code52) "

On several of the previous driver installs before this and on the Intel driver install a pop up said that the driver (or some portion) was already installed but I selected "overwrite all" to complete the installation.

The computer would start fine after all the drivers were installed.

I performed a Windows Update which included about 229 important and recommended updates.  Now the computer will not start up.  Windows performed its attempt to repair automatically and advised that it could not.

Would you prefer that i start a new inquiry?

Can you help me with this?

HP Recommended

Dissregard failure to boot inquiry.  Next windows auto fix achieved boot up.  It said it reverted changes.

Thank you for all your excellent help and responsiveness.

Best Regards,

Bill

You're very welcome, Bill.

Did the problem with the AMD graphics adapter get resolved, or does it still have the ! mark next to it?

HP Recommended

Good question.  I just now got a pop up red X window.

Graphics

No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly.  Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD hardware.

HP Recommended

Interesting...

I wonder if it didn't like the newer driver.

Try the original one and see if that works instead.

You want to see the Intel and AMD graphics adapters listed under the display adapters device categories with no ! marks.

Now the above driver also contains the drivers for the Intel GPU.

If you are warned that the driver you are going to install is older than the one installed, proceed with the installation.

HP Recommended

The Intel Display Adapter also now has the "!" next to it in Device Manager.  Possibly the Windows repair uninstalled that as well>

HP Recommended

OK.

Right click on each device, select uninstall and check the uninstall driver boxes for both, reboot and then install the driver I posted.

HP Recommended

OK

On reboot Windows resumed

"Stage 5 of 5

Failure configuring Windows updates

Reverting changes.

Do not turn off your computer"
