I would suggest uninstalling the drivers and try to install the broadcom driver, eventhough its a realtek.

Plus, I'd like to ask you to post a print screen of your device manager with all the tabs open. If you find a device showing as "Unkown Device" right click it, them Properties and show us what you have 🙂

Also, I found this sollution:

Fortunately – there is a solution.

Step 1 – First things first, Right-Click the newly-reinstated Start Menu and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the drop-down menu.

Step 2 – Type out the following command, then hit the Enter key

reg delete HKCRCLSID{988248f3-a1ad-49bf-9170-676cbbc36ba3} /va /f

Step 3 – Enter the below command into the Command Prompt and then triumphantly hit the Enter key

netcfg -v -u dni_dne

Step 4 – Restart the PC and then double-check your wifi settings. You should now see a revived list of all of the available networks within range.

If you know you are running an older version of Cisco VPN client or SonicWall Global VPN, it is worth uninstalling the software before upgrading your PC to Windows 10 to avoid the issue.

Do that. If it doesn't show up after, try to install the realtek driver.

Guys, you are the best, you really gave me some ideas I haven't tried. 🙂

Unfortunately none of the above doesn't work... I really wish it would be that simple as a new driver install/reinstall...

But the thing is, the installer doesn't detect hardware and it won't continue/install the driver --> hardware isn't there!

It would be really nice if an official HP officer would respond and give opinion, again, this is not an isolated case!?

I'm very sad to see that none of the sollutions worked. In this case, what I would advise you to do is to go back to your previous system and wait for the issue to be solved. Usually, when my clients come to me with issues like this, a BIOS and driver update usually work. Also, when you go back, see if your wifi card is recognized again. If it doesn't, the problem might be related to the card itself. Thats always a possibility 😕

I can't anymore, I don't have the option to roll back to Win 8.1 😞

I really don't see the solution for this problem...

And I really hope that the problem is not with the card itself, it would be strange though because of other identical cases, for so many defective wifi card to be installed.

Yeah, you could also try a clean install on Windows 10. However, since this OS is very recent, I honestly feel it might be best to revert. You won't lose the option to upgrade again for another year, so... why not wait a couple of months to give time for the initial bugs to be solved? 🙂

I don't have the option to revert back anymore... that's why 🙂

I tried refreshing several times, and it doesn't help...

And when we are talking about refreshing, everytime I did it, I lost one driver, first the touchpad, then keybord, etc. ... so now I have everything setup except WIFI.

Well, that is odd. Have you tried calling HP's technical Support?

I bought my HP Stream 11 in USA, and currently I'm in EU, so no...

I guess I will have to do that.
