I am using Symantec Endpoint Protection but HP Support Assistant is telling me that Network Firewall is off.

When I check my firewall it's being managed by Symantec Endpoint Protection and is ON.

Anyone have any ideas why it's not picking up the firewall settings?

Hello dnoakeselcom:

Yes because HP Support Assisant only monitors windows settings not other other software settings. Just enore the firewall warning HP Support Assisant says. As long as your anti virus is working and protecting your computer you are all set. Some anti virus software do dissable the firewall to prevent conflics. You are welcome frrw.

Hi,

I am Chetan Savade from Symantec Technical Support team.

I could not find out any public kb for the same in our own database.

I also feel you should check with HP support why it's not picking correct info.

SEPM reporting should help to find out updated information.

Thanks and Regards,

Hello Chetan:
I already explain it as why it does not monitor it. Their is nothing you can do about. As long as firewall is turned off it will report that. Some Antivirus software will turn it off because their software has a built in firewall. You turn on the computers fire wall and run both anti virus's fire wall. It will in fact crash your computer. You just enore HP's Support Assisants warning that is all. HP Support Assisants does not monitor Anti virus / malware software period. Only the windows firewall it monitors. I have many expert computer technicains will tell you the same thing as I have posted. Get this HP Advisor will say Anti virus software is not installed even though it is. frrw
