Sorry that i have to said but XP is by far no longer supported.
This meens that you can't find anything for XP and special Recovery or ready disk for XP!
only 3rd party websites that are not recommened to use.
Or Buy Windows Licence / or even more better to buy new laptop us any way your laptop is too old

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
You have serious difficult issues with your laptop.
First off, an XP era laptop is liable to have an IDE hard drive, not SATA. IDE drives have two rows of very small pins on the edge; SATA drives have two plastic strips with contacts. No one has made IDE drives for years, so it will be very difficult if not impossible to replace your hard drive if it is an IDE drive.
Second, HP hasn't stocked recovery media for your PC for years. You can try these other sites (which ARE recommended), but I doubt they will have anything: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/
Good Luck
