Pls help me I got a virus called Chromium, and I wanted to factory reset or reformat my CQ10 but I don't know how. How do I perform the factory data reset or how to reformat my laptop? Thx.
Hello @junjun22221
Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.
If you want I can help you in removing the malware from your computer.
Chromium may not be a real malware. Chromium is the open source version of the Google's browser Chrome. Chromiums is the project which creates the code for Chrome browser (Google Chrome). Here is more information:

Of course, I do not rule out the small possibility of you getting a virus/malware that pretends to be some sort of Chromium.
If you do not experience any other issues, I do not advise you directly reinstall/format your computer. Instead, I could try to help you check for and remove any threats.
- Could you elaborate on what issues exactly you experience, what makes you think you are infected ?
- Could you scan your PC with ESET's online scanner (free) >> https://www.eset.com/int/home/online-scanner/
Scan and remove any threats found but provide me with details if anything malicious was detected
- Could you provide a small log file for review
Download Trend Micro's HiJackThis app:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/
Save and run the exe file.
Click on "Do a scan and save log file" button
After scan, if a log file pops up in Notepad - that is excellent. If not, choose "Save log" button and choose to save the log file somehwere
The log file - open it, choose "Select All" (CTR + A) , then copy it and paste it all here in your next reply.
Looking forward to your reply.
