Hello MMagdy

As I understand it you want to decrease your shared memory on your computer. I am providing you with an HP Support document below titled "Changing the Amount of System Memory Used for On-Board Video". I am not sure if this will address your issue as the shared memory is shared between your computer and your Graphic Video card.

Changing the Amount of System Memory Used for On-Board Video

I am also providing you with a link to a proactive HP Forum post by @Daniel_Potyrala who posted a very thorough guide on not just improving your boot time but your systems performance as well. I would recommend you take a look at it as I believe it will assist you in resolving the slow down you are experiencing.

Thank you for posting on the HP Forums and I hope I have properly addressed the issue that you posted about. Have a great day!

Hello MMagdy

Okay as I understand it the F1 is not working for you to access the BIOS so lets go with F10 and make the changes needed. As I understand it though I still believe this will not resolve your issue as you cannot increase the on-board video memory past what it is already set for only decrease it. I would still recommend you follow the guide here How to speed up system boot time and the performance.

I would like to thank you for once again posting on the HP Forums and hope you have a great day!

Hello again MMagdy

I am sorry that document did not meet your needs. To be more specific with answering your question I would ask that you please post your product number for your computer. I am linking a document below that will show you how to find your product number. As well if you could indicate which operating system you are running and whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit as with this and the product number we can provide you with accurate information.

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

I do need to have the product number so I can properly reference which BIOS you have to be able to provide you with accurate steps.

I appreciate your posting on the HP Forums have a great day!

Hello MMagdy

Unfortunately, I have to be the bearer of bad news in regards to your inquiry. There is no way for you to adjust the Shared Memory on your computer. I have examined the BIOS for your system and the option to adjust the Video Memory is not there.

On the bright side just because you see 4 gigs for the Shared Memory does not mean it is using 4 gigs. Half is already being used for your Video Graphics as it is on-board Graphics and the other 2 gigs is available to enable quicker access to application to data that is shared amongst other applications This can only result in your computer reacting faster and using the memory you do have more efficiently.

The link that I meant to post to @Daniel_Potyrala's here will enable you to speed up your computer and possibly reduce if not eliminate the slowness you described in your opening post.

I hope this helps you so that you can enjoy your HP Pavilion g6-2321se Notebook PC the way you want to.

Once again I thank you for posting on the HP Forums and hope you have a great day!
