How do I bypass or reset my administrator password?
09-27-2017 01:27 AM

I'm Hello
I'm not sure what my administration password used to be, I'm stuck on the black screen and a blue message asking for the administrator or power on password. I could use some help to get by this.

Hi,
At the password screen, hit enter 3 times and you should receive a 'halt code' - post back with this code.
Regards,
DP-K

Hello @Brownqueen997
I'm sorry to say we don't have a way to find a solution for your type of halt code.
You will have to contact HP support for help.
Contact HP Worldwide | HP® Official Site
I've heard that some laptops with your halt code might reset if you remove the RTC battery on the motherboard.
If you want to try it, tell me your full model number or product number and I will send you a link to the manual.
It should be written in tiny text on the bottom of your stream laptop.

@Cliff26 We cannot under HP Terms of Service, help crack any passwords. No matter if they are bios, power-on, user acct. etc etc. You may contact HP directly to discuss other options if you wish.
