I have a Canon PowerShot digital camera.

I took a bunch of pics today and transferred them to my laptop.

.......... For some reason pics don't go automatically into a Pic folder (I've never had trouble til now; usually a screen popped up on the screen & I clicked to transfer).

.......... I've looked and looked and just can't find.  Any ideas where I can find them?

THANKS VERY MUCH!

If you know the name of one of the picture files, you can search your hard drive for it using "search"

There is no way for us to know where you saved them, sorry.

Hi  !

I probably don't understand what you're telling me (thank you!), but all I did was transfer the pics to the computer.  I didn't put them anywhere.  I just hear a noise that says they're being transferred and then I can't find them.

THANKS! very much for your help (I'm pretty computer/camera illiterate and spent hours 2 days in a row now trying to find them without any luck)

You probably used the canon software to transfer the pictures, and depending on the version of that software, they might have a setting in there for a "destination" to transfer the pictures. Usually, it's in the Pictures folder, a sub folder with the date the pictures were taken? If still not finding the pictures, maybe start a new transfer and before clicking that "transfer", read the text on the dialog? there should be a folder name where the pictures are going or a button or something to let you make changes.

Hi CharlesHP,

The place where I bought my computer and camera installed everything.  I know they installed the software for the Canon. I've always gone to the Pictures folder and found the photos. I will do what you suggest .......  "If still not finding the pictures, maybe start a new transfer and before clicking that "transfer", read the text on the dialog? there should be a folder name where the pictures are going or a button or something to let you make changes".  Your suggestion makes sense.

I really appreciate your help and time; you explained it in terms I understand (which is rare!)
