HP Envy M6 Sleekbook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop is not booting up properly; it starts the automatic recovery program on boot and searches for errors. In the end, the laptop always tells me it's failed. I have tried resetting the laptop through the 'Troubleshoot' option that pops up, but it always fails during the process. I've also tried accessing the BIOS on startup but the laptp denies it every time during the boot sequence.

I'd like to know how exactly I can reset my laptop in the event that all other forms of resetting/recovery aren't available to me. Thanks.

Hi:

I doubt a forced reset will fix the problems you are experiencing, but here is the HP instruction link on how to do a forced reset.

I did a forced reset according to the instructions in the link, but it gave me the same boot loop of the automatic repair.sequence followed by failure. I'm not sure if the forced reset did not work or if the boot loop simply is interfering with it in some way. In any case, is there any other sort of measures I can take to fix my problems?

Thanks in advance.

Did you try tapping the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, select the F11 recovery option from the menu and try a factory reset of the notebook?

You will lose all data on the hard drive if this is successful.

That would be the only suggestion I can offer.
