HP Zbook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there!

I have a HP Zbook 15 and want to open my CD-DVD drawer, however it will not open. There is no pinhole to insert a paperclip. Furthermore, I've searched for removable hardware and into my pc, but there is nothing related to this drawer. So, how can I open it? Tnx!

That means the device is getting power but has PnP issues, since the OS is not recognizing it.

See the solution in the following thread. It may work for you.

Is there a disk inside the drive?

Is your ZBook still in warranty?

If it is, then you can arrange to have a replacement sent to you or have a service engineer come to your home, depending on the type of warranty you have. ZBooks are quite high end, so you should check to see what warranty options you have.

The optical drive is a customer  self repair item.

Normally you can open Windows Exploree, find the DVD drive and right click on it. One of the options should be eject.

Tnx for the quick reply! I've just search for the Windows Exploree, Microsoft MVP and DVD drive. But no results found.

Click on the folder on the systray to use the Windows Explorer.

Open the This PC section in Windows Explorer.

It should show all drives and partitions (with drive letters) that are connected to the notebook. If there is a disk in the drive it should be shown.

Does the DVD (Optical) disk activity led  flash when you start up the notebook?

There is no DVD Drive visible in my Windows Explorer. I've just restarted my laptop, and the led flash of the DVD is flickering. The other three leds are fine.
