I have an Hp Pavilion dv7-4065dx laptop running on Windows 7. I need to add a Firewire jack to it. All it has is USB, HDMI, eSata, Ethernet and MultiCard Reader. I think I need to get an ExpressCard with FireWire jacks. Where do I insert the ExpressCard in my laptop? OR What other way might I be able to add a FireWire jack to my laptop.

I want to connect a FireWire audio interface but the laptop has no FireWire ports and no ExpressCard slots.... YIKES!
Thank you for your assistance Erico
Yikes is correct. Your notebook does not have an interface for Expresscard nor PCMIA. I am not aware of a converter for eSATA to Firewire that is commercially available.
Sorry to bear bad news.
Best regards,

Please Identify your notebook with the p/n (#2 in the example below) found either in the HP Support assistant, the BIOS or possibly on a barcoded sticker on the bottom of the notebook.

It's ok Erico. Thank you for helping me figure this out. Luckily, I haven't purchased my audio interface yet. Your information has helped me to decide on one that may be more appropriate and less of a headache. I think I'll be going USB instead. Thanks again. I appreciate it.

Yes and so did I.
I have never strayed from Dell, until this purchase. I wanted Blu Ray, I already purchased CS5 (Adobe), I am all set for my first project with my new HP, and no Firewire, it has been a year and there is simply no way to hook up a Firewire device to capture video
So I have a Laptop for Sale, and lucky me it has Beats Audio. Which ny the way sounds worse than my Dell XPS laptop with no enhancements.
Why would HP think for a minute it is time to kick Firewire to the curb.
