Hi

I hope that HP do a regular updating for the versions of all HP software at the Coustmers' home page since I really have looked up far too many times to find new versions of my AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver

I always find the same version in my home page which is 2011-11-18 , Version8.882.2.3000, 338.98M which I have it installed

For Switchable graphics modes, this package includes drivers for both graphics processing units(GPUs). (Integarted GPU is (Mobile Intel Graphics) and (Discrete GPU is (ATI Radeon Graphics).
Switchable graphics enable users to switch between a power_saving graphics mode(normally used under battery power) and a high-perfomance graphics mode.

I was told t by Huffer 'DO NOT try to install the standalone Intel driver. Not needed.' since installing it will let me face a problem 'this computer doesn't meet the minimum requirement for installing this software'

If I don't need to install the standalone intel driver,  and installing it will let me face a problem this computer doesn't meet the minimum requirement for installing this software', then why HP listed this a standalone intel drive in my home page?

Also, whenever I visited my HP home page for my model name and number, I found these three drivers:

1- AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver
2011-11-18 , Version8.882.2.3000, 338.98M
Released:
2011-11-18
File name:
sp55092.exe [1/1, 338.98M]
Version
8.882.2.3000

2- AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver
2011-09-16 , Version8.15.10.2291, 79.78M
Release details
Released:
2011-09-16
File name:
sp54471.exe [1/1, 79.78M]
Version
8.15.10.2291
Compatibility:

3-Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver
2011-05-06 , Version8.15.10.2291 Rev., 79.78M

Thus, I really got confused:
First: installing the 'Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver gave me an error 'your computer doesn't  meet the minimum requirement for installing this software'

Second: I don't know which one of the two remains I can choose, AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Drive, or AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver. I think the AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver is the latest one as shown above? But could 'AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver' be installing 'intel' driver?

Hello @cooperator,

I understand that you are looking for the most up to date graphics drivers for the purpose of your computer's switchable graphics. I would be happy to help you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. Below is a is an HP Support document that will demonstrate how to find your computer's product number. In addition, it will also help if you indicate which operating system you are using; and whether your operating system is 32 or 64 bit. The more information you can provide, the better!

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

Please re-post with the necessary information, this way I will be able to research this further for you. I look forward to your reply!

Cheers!

Thank you so much indeed,

These are the information required by you.

The product Name of my computer is: HP Pavilion dv6-6093ex Entertainment Notebook PC support

The number of my computer is : LM610EA#A2N

The operating system I am using is: Windows 7 for 64-Bit-Based system.

As said before I have the AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver 2011-11-18 , Version8.882.2.3000, 338.98M currently installed in my computer.

Thus, my questions are:

Firstly: is there a newer version than 1- AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver 2011-11-18 , Version8.882.2.3000, 338.98M?

Secondly: Why did the 'AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver 2011-11-18 , Version8.882.2.3000, 338.98M' installed both my buit-in Graphics(Intel) and my (ATI) external Graphics? Then, what benefit is there from 'AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver 2011-09-16 , Version8.15.10.2291, 79.78M'?

Thirdly -I could not install the satnadalone  Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver(2011-05-06 , Version8.15.10.2291 Rev., 79.78M)', separately, whenever trying to install it, I faced this error: this computer doesn't meet the minimum requirement for installing this software

If I don't need to install the standalone intel driver,  and installing it will let me face a problem this computer doesn't meet the minimum requirement for installing this software, then why HP listed this a standalone intel drive in my home page?

Finally: I was told by a sellier that my laptop has built-in Intel Graphics, and an External ATI Graphics. However, I have never ever seen the ATI High-Definition Graphics Driver in my hope page, I always installed the AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver which of course defined my external drive and intel drive? Thus, why sellier said to me that my computer has ATI craphics, he should have said to me that my laptop has 'AMD graphics

Hello again cooperator,

It is good to hear back from you!

To answer your first question, there are no new updates aside from the graphics drivers found on your notebook's drivers page. You can always use the HP Support Assistant to check for HP driver updates, but the most up to date software is most often found on the HP website.

For the second question, the AMD / Intel switchable graphics drivers are used explicitly for switchable graphics. The AMD and Intel drivers are separate allocations for different hardware variations of the notebook.

For your third enquiry, the reason you cannot install the Intel drivers standalone is because the software is likely already installed from a Windows update.

As for the fourth question, the Product Specifications of your notebook computer, the graphics card installed on your system is an AMD Radeon HD 6770M (1 GB DDR5)

Thanks a lot, I would like you to kindly go through my points below and reply to me in order, please?

You mean there is no new version for both:

AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver 2011-11-18 , Version 882.2.3000

AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver 2011-09-16 , Version 8.15.10.2291, 79.78M

If there are no new version, then why I have found new version by googling in the internet: However, it wansn't working with me very well.

AMD Catalyst.JPG

But built-in Intel graphics wasn't working well, and all icons were larger. Thus, I uninstalled and then reinstall my previously downloaded from my HP home page.

Yes, but I have never ever installed the AMD/Intel Switchable graphics drivers, although I have two graphics(intel) and AMD, and there are switchable. After I made a clean install of a Windows 7, then I only installed AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver 2011-11-18 , Version 8.882.2.3000, 338.98M.  Then, my Intel graphics and AMD graphics got working well. Since the 'intel driver'  has been included in AMD high-definition driver package by HP.

This is the full components in the AMD hig-definition driver pakage:

Also, I have switchable graphics:

If my Graphics installed were AMD Radeon HD 6770M, then why The CPU-z program showed me ATI Radeon.

Also, in the existing package in the screen shot below, there is ATI  Display Adapter

I really made a new version of Windows 7 64Bit, then all adapters were as shown in this  screenshot below:
Device Manager before after removing ATI Cataylst.JPG

When Trying to install the the Intel standalone driver, I got that error 'your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements for installing this software. After getting this error, I really install the AMD-High definition driver, then both Intel  and AMD got installed.

Finally: However, what I am quire perplexed about is that 'Intel Graphics and Media control Panel' contains some Arabic contents as shown in this screen shot, although this Intel Graphics and Media control panel was installed with installing AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver 2011-11-18 , Version8.882.2.3000, 338.98M. Also, my Windows is English version.  But I don't know why I only see some options in the menu of Intel are in Arabic when click 'right-click' on the Intel icon on the system tray or on the desktop.

However, after I click on any option, then all things are in English.

Hi again cooperator,

Thank you for the quick reply!

The reason why the latest released drivers from AMD or Intel from their websites are not recommend is because the intended software is specifically designed to work with the hardware on your notebook. The drivers provided on these other websites are not guaranteed to work with your computer. If you wish, you can install them on your notebook but there is a risk that the hardware or could be compromised (if the drivers install without issue). Once again, the recommend drivers for your computer can be found on your notebook's software page for Windows 7.

For further information on switchable graphics and how they function on your notebook, I recommend taking a look at this document on an Overview of Switchable Graphics or Dual GPUs.

Best Regards 🙂
