Hi, I have an HP Pavilion P series Laptop. I want to change my Dedicated video memory as I am unable to play several games such as GTA4. My laptop is showing "Total Available Graphic Memory : 1792 MB" but "Dedicated Video Memory : 0 MB". Pls help I have a 4 GB RAM and I read on the net that with a 4 GB RAM i can easily increase my Dedicated Video Memory to about 512 MB.

Hi @Manav_MNV
Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I see you are looking to change your dedicated video memory. Not all systems are able to change the dedicated video memory as Windows normally assigns this. This YouTube video will show you some steps to try.

Hi i did some search on the net and i would like to modify my question , I have a 2GB Dedicated Nvidia Graphic card and also have Integrated Intel HD Graphics i.e there is 'switching graphics' present in my laptop. Now the problem is that I am unable to run most of the games because they automatically use the intel graphic even though I have manually gone to Nvidia Control Panel and assigned them the nvidia graphic card. Also the Nvidia Geforce Experience app is suggesting me extremely low settings inorder to optimise the games to full capacity. I have Even tried Disabling the Intel Graphic in order to make the Nvidia as the Default one but it didnt worked out too well as my system showed No graphics at all !! I would appreciate if u could tell me a solution , I have tried installing the drivers but they were useless and I am pissed off now because nobody responds here.
edit : I have even tried right clicking -> Run using graphics processor.

Hi Manav_MNV,
Try using the NVIDA Control Panel as described in this HP document NVIDIA Optimus Graphics with Integrated Intel Graphics there is a section on Setting the graphics processor for one software program or game that will show you how to access it and use it.

here are steps -
Ensure you have all drivers.
1 go to control panel and click display
you will settings for resolution and brightness
2 click on advanced settings you will see intel adapter box
3 click on advanced tab or see every tab.
4 you will see options for update, uninstall and rollback.
5 click on rollback
6 now you will see an Microsoft adapter box. And now you will not be able to change resolution and brightness.
7 Again found options for rollback uninstall
8 you will also see update .click on update
9 chose option to automaticly find and install driver
10 now again intel adapter appear .Now you can again change resolution and brightness.
Exit and try to run gta 4.I tried it on my pc and all games are working well include pes 2014.Try this and reply that it works or not.
