Hello,
I have a problem with the PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth Software on my Envy 17. Problem for uninstalling with windows 7 ultimate 64 Bit.
I have found that it could happen when the drivers are installed by error with no supported card. But I don't know if this driver is needed on my Envy 17 as the Buetooth card is a broadcom and my wifi card is a Intel ultimate 6300 N6300 AGN. I don't see any Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 + High Speed Adaptor
But I found the software in the HP support for My Envy !
I am a little lost. Can somebody tell me if this driver is necessary or not?
Thanks in advance for your help...

You likely do not need this driver as it appears that your Bluetooth and wireless are separate devices. and even different manufacturers. However, in order to determine exactly which drivers you need I would need your product number. This document can show you how to locate the number for me.
Another option is to try using HP Support Assistant to get your updates. You can download this program at this link."
I hope this information is helpful; have a great weekend!

Hello AttackofZaq,
Thanks for your answer and the time you took for me !
My product number is the A2Q44EA#UUG (HP Envy 17 3000eb).
On the HP supporrt page, the following BluetoothPROSet Intel driver
But I realy don't know (or think) if I need it....
Yes it would be great if you have a way to check it: as I don't have an other envy of the same generation, a solution would be to restore the default, check the factory settings... and after restore a backup....
But I would prefer a less time consumming way... 🙂
I wish you also a great week-end.
Kind regards
Philippe

I can not tell from the product number which piece of hardware it has unfortunately. I have a few other ideas which you can try.
If you go to device manager what do you see for a bluetooth card? Try the following.
- Click Start, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.
- Expand (if they're there) the Bluetooth section and the Network Adapters section. Do you see a bluetooth device listed here? What is the name?
- Post the result.
However, the quickest solution will be to use HP Support Assistant. It should detect your hardware and show you what updates are available. Here is the link.
Give that a try and let me know how it goes!

I'm pretty sure you do not need it but this will be the last step to rule it out. You can download it here.
