I have a DV6T-6100 with an Intel Wifi Link 1000 BGN wifi adapter.  I am running Windows 7 64-bit Pro.

I cannot connect to my 802.11n wireless network.  The computer sees the 2Ghz network provided by my NetGear WNDR3300, but will not see the 5Ghz network.  I have checked all settings, the adapter is setup to connect to both.  However, under adapter settings/Advanced/Wireless Mode, I can only select:

802.11b

802.11g

802.11b/g

I do not see an entry for 802.11n.

Can someone help?

Thank you, I've seen that doc. nothing in it that explains why my BGN adapter can only be configured for b or b/g, but not N.

After looking up the specs, Intel wifi link 1000 bgn is not capable of 5ghz. There is an N mode for 2.4ghz which makes it easy to confuse it with a 5 ghz.

Your Maintenance and Service Guide should give you the compatible adapters for this notebook for 5ghz.

Please let me know if this helps.

Good luck!
