I am unsure why my links are not working for you today so I am going to try this a different way. First you thing you need to do is uninstall a program called HP Power Assistant. Than download and install the new version. I am linking the instructions and the download below.

SP54635 Instructions/Information

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54635.html

Therefore on my Probook 4530s I am uninstalling  HP Power Assistant 2.1.0.6 installed on 21/7/2013, and replacing it with VERSION: 2.0.6.0 REV: A dated October 25, 2011....

Let's see what happens.

I'm trying it too...I'm going from a 2012 version to 2011 version.  Is there an updated version that can save us all 🙂

HP Recommended

I have a version from 2011-12-14 17:27   36161KB.

That one must be overwritten ?

Yes you want to over write the one you currently have installed. I am trying to establish whether or not this is software related. If a different version does not work either than I would suspect a hardware issue. The fact that the linked document's purpose was to fix the issue you are describing leads to along the software issue path so I am getting you to try it first.

Everyone trying this please re-post with however this turns out.

Well, I was able to install the file in

    C:\swsetup\sp54635

and obtained a new version of

   HPPA_Setup.exe

Turns out that this new version has the same number of bytes:  37028848

as the original.

Now what?

Have you fully installed the new version of HP Power Assistant? If so does the problem persist? If it persists restart your computer.

Please re-post so I know the status of our troubleshooting?
