HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-g103dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I got a update for windows. So I stupidity updated.

Now my wireless network adapter is GARBAGE.

But seems to be only a issue if I close the lid for a few seconds/min/hours.

I have hard wired and did the driver update. It says it is up-to-date.

Instead of having a wireless adapter plugged in is there any other options?

Hi:

The parts list indicates that your PC comes with a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi adapter.

The only suggestion I can offer, would be to update the wifi driver to the latest version, restart the PC, and see if that resolves the issue.

This package contains the DCHU driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8188EE, RTL8723BE, RTL8723DE, RTL8821CE, and RTL8822BE wireless LAN Controller in the supported notebook and desktop models running Windows 10

Thank you for that help.

It worked great..

Until this morning.

I was online. worked fine. Closed lid so I could relocate to my home office. (Closer to modem but 1 floor down)

Opened lid... and same issue as before. Secure to wifi but no internet.

Had to grab external wifi adapter to send this.

Wife's laptop(Also a HP) having same issue. I will search that one after work.

You're very welcome.

Sorry that updating the driver didn't work for you.

That is a very tough issue to figure out when updating the driver doesn't work.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.
