This EliteBook 8560p currently has the 1618 KBC Version 97.4c System board, I've updated the BIOS to 68SCF Version F.29, and the current processor is i5-2520M @ 2.5GHz.  I believe its a quad core - when I look in device manager under processors I can see 4 of them.   The graphics is the Radeon HD 6470M.

Is it possible to upgrade the processor for this machine and if so what would be the best performance processor to upgrade to.  Thank you for any help

Page 90 of this guide details the processors that should work with this system with the corresponding HP part number.  The list appears to have the processors ordered by performance with the celeron being the lowest processor.  It also details the process of upgrading the processor.

Reviewing Erico's document may be worth reviewing prior to upgrading the processor as it has some useful information.
