Hello Tashm,
I see that you are having a start up problem with your HP computer. I would like to help with this issue but I need some information.
Can you provide the full model and product number of the computer? Here is a link that shows how to find that information.
Here is a link that describes blink codes coming from the caps lock and num lock lights. Take a look at the link and let me know if there is a pattern.

Did up dating the BIOS work? My computer is doing the same thing for the past year. It started right after my warrenty ran out a year ago. I have taken it to the shop and no one can tell me what's wrong. They say the motherboard, the computer screen is out. And other things. I don't believe it, cuz it comes on at times and works good until I turn it off, then, it won't boot windows again. My caps lock continuously blinks. Thank u

My laptop is HP 2000, cap lock blinks, and wireless button (F12) stays amber. Did all the trouble shooting on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05336130 (Link Updated 04/26/2017) Nothing worked... so i had to call HP--- if your warranty is expired, they will charge you $59.00 to try and troubleshoot.. so here's another tip you can try that is not on the troubleshoot site, which they gave me over the phone:
take out battery and unplug the ac adapter. Hit the power button for 30 seconds. Input just the ac adapter (not the battery) press power, let go... hit the F10 button continously every second. A blue screen should appear. If it does not.. it's a hardware issue.
Unfortunalty for me, this tip did not work, therefore it is my hardware..BUT it annoys the hell out of me that HP runs this scam... when they could've added the extra troubleshoot steps on thier troubleshooting page.
so try this extra step before calling and wasting your loot....

Some time it will come on by it self and work great, but when I turn it off it won't load again for a long time. U can take your pc to best buy, office depot or some where that fixes pc's and they will check it out for free and let u know how much it will cost to fix it before they repair it. I am taking mine tomorrow. I will never buy another computer without having atleast a two year warranty. Hard lesson learned. 😞
