Just brought a new HP laptop yesterday and let it do all the windows updates. It let me download the exe for the world of warcraft launcher, but when the launcher then tries to download the game, the laptop either freezes or restarts by itself after a minute or too. I can sit in the launcher and chat, its only when I let it download.
Ive tried uninstalling the driver for the graphics card and reinstalling it using the AMD auto detecter on the AMD site.
I dont get any warnings or error messages before this happens.
processor is AMD A8 - 7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics 2.20 GHz
8 GB ram
64-bit windows 10
I have friends who play on similar or less specs, this is really frustrating.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to HP Forums @Mystimyst,
Thanks for the post.
I understand that your computer is restarting when you launch Warcraft on your computer.
Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own by updating the graphics driver and installing Window updates.
Have you tried to use HP Support Assistant?
May I know the exact product number of your computer? Click here. Please do not share the serial number of your computer.
Recommend you run HP Support Assistant on your computer to update the drivers on your computer. Click here.
Make sure BIOS and chipset drivers are updated.
For the first 7 to 10 days, there would be a lot Windows updates to be installed on your computer, please make sure all the Windows updates are installed.
If the issue persists, check if the version of Warcraft you are using is compatible with Windows 10.
Run a system test on your computer. Click here.
Let me know if this helped.

Product number is X0H49PA#ABG
Thank you for your time 🙂
Ive run the assistant App and its saying no to any updates.
And yep, windows seems to always be doing updates lol. Including one its having trouble with today.
Im going to attempt to look into the BIOS update.
Ive also just rung HP and been given another number to call for laptops, first guy thinks it might be more of a windows issue.
I just want to know wether its going to be worth my time trying to figure this out. I dont want to spend weeks trying to solve this only to find out its not capable of doing the one thing I want it for, and have missed the time frame to return it 😞
According to the World of Warcraft website the specs should be able to handle it, at low end. Which is fine with me, if i can get it working.

Thanks for the reply, please run a system test on your computer to make sure all the components are working correctly. Click here.
You can also uninstall the Radeon software on your computer and install it directly from AMD website and check if helps in the performance of your computer while playing games.
For other troubleshooting steps, please refer to this HP Article for assistance.
Let me know if this helped.
