OK, the 'latest' driver SP60504, was nothing more than a repeat of what I have seen so far. Connected, 5/5 signal strength, but no internet.
Jack suggested that I try to wire direct to the router. I doubted that it could be a router problem, and I still do. BUT, a good suggestion otherwise. I am not able to connect while directly ethernet cabled to the router. I did change ports on the back of the router, and even rebooted while connected. I even changed from IE to Firefox, but no internet access.
Now, I am stumped. I have never had a computer that didn't access the internet while plugged in.
So I'm lost in St Louis....haha.
Again, anyone that has a suggestion I appreciate it.
Thanks again, in advance.

Here's this mornings update...
My HP 625 can still connect to the router, but no internet (wirelessly or hard wired).
I checked two other laptops, and they can both access the internet with no problems, wireless and wired.
So I back to my original belief that my problem is with the HP laptop. I did run checks on the card itself through the device manager, and it reported that the Broadcom 4313 card is working properly.
So I'm wondering if I have somesort of conflict issue...
Again, thanks in advance.

Solution: Install the optional Realtek Update from Windows Update.
Reason: I don't have a {Content Removed} clue why but i found this solution (in another thread) and it worked pretty fine in my case (Pavilion g4).
ps: My wifi is a broadcom, not a realtek and the drivers are from broadcom. May be broadcom's drivers parasite from realtek libraries.
ps2: i case of doubt, install all windows updates and install the latest driver. However, since the wifi is anything but stable so i don't recommend to do a full windows update. Also,it requires an internet connection, so one option is to update via wired or to try luck with wifi.
Update applied:
Realtek - Network - Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
Realtek Network software update released in June, 2011

Sorry guys, my head is about to explode from all this. I am trying to raplce my wifi adapter without modding my bios and one of the part numbers in the manual that worked on the HP part site:
657325-001
Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 combination adapter
Is this the same card that folks are having issues with in this thread? Sounds like I would be trading issues for issues?

FWIW: Broadcom WLAN v6.30.223.98 dated 5/23/13 seems to be the latest Win8 compatible driver...

Yes, that driver is only for W7.
Below is the link to the latest XP Broadcom driver.
