My computer also has this problem. I bought it 2 years ago and I think the warranty is over (I bought addistional warranty, but it's expired). The hap is so big now, that I can't even use the plug located in that area. What do I do?

Also, this is clearly HP design flaw. I am very surprised that the manufacturer doesn't take responsibility for his product. Depending on the solution, I might never purchase HP again. Will also leave feedback on Amazon where I purchased it.

This has also happened to me, my laptop is about a year and half old, it started happening around half a year ago, and had been carefully  tiptoeing around the problem, but its now getting to the point where I can no longer close it without poping up half the chassis

My laptop also has this problem. I bought my laptop around 3 years ago and was wondering how to fix it.

I am having the exact same issue. It split apart one day while I was typing and will not hold together. What do I need to do to fix this?

I am also facing the same problem.  The left hinge is causing the bottom case to pop open every time i open my laptop. My laptop is currently in warranty.

I had the same issue months ago and did not had time to find a solution.

I want to know if it is a design issue, if it is so, HP needs to start a recall in order fix it.

If it is not, what I need to do to get help from HP in order to fix my laptop?
