Hello
After a while, I had now decided to submit my Spectre for repair. It went well. They changed the entire LCD screen. It took a bit of time when the goods were not in place at InfoCare. One drawback is if you have stickers or other things on your laptop, so they will disappear when they move all over the screen.
SINCERELY

Hey guys,
Just wanted to update my status on my broken hinge. One of the two hinges on my spectre x360 started to rotate out of sync with the other one so part of the corner of the screen was grinding against the keyboard side due to the angle. This is 16 days after my warranty ran out (Pretty angry at this point).
I was afraid the hinge was going to pop out any day, so posted this issue with HP to see if they have instruction on how to disassemble the hinge (didn't want to pay more for a computer I already spent $1000+++ on). I was pretty surprise they offered to fix the screen even after it was out of warranty (kudos to HP on this one). So I can't say I was happy with the quality of the hinge, but pretty happy with HP customer service.
So point here is post to HP and see if there is something wrong with your hinge or anything else wrong for that matter. You'll probably get contact privately and go from there.

My hinges are looser than I think they should be, but not terrible. Whe *I* reached out here I got a canned response to contact them or to expect an email from them, but never got it. That's been many months now (probabably close to a year now).
But the good news, is they didn't get looser, and seem to be/act the same so I didn't persue it further. Not trying to be a pain, but they don't seem to always respond.

Hey dmTalon:
From your response, looks like the customer service is not consistent between HP reps. I got professional rep that was always giving me updates, but your experience is the complete opposite it seems. Maybe you can try posting again as a new post?
If your hinge does gets really loose and you are not getting reponse from HP, I have read in the BestBuy review that the Geeksquad was able to somehow tighten the hinge. I have been looking on YouTube for a video on how to do this, but haven't found one yet. Maybe someone will post a video on how to tighten the hinge in the near future.

Thanks for the response aqn104... Ya I'm sure everything is dependant on who you're dealing with as a CSR, so my post was a YMMV mostly.
Mine really isn't bad, just not perfect. I think it should be able to hold its 'shape' when carrying and sometimes it moves back (flat) when carrying it. I don't do this a whole lot, so in the end it's a minor issue (so far).

I beleive i have fixed my issue. All I had to do is stuff some paper into the space between the hinge and the lower casing to prevent the hinge from moving in towards the casing. The paper is not intrusive, I even forgot it was there.

My hinge is also loose. It's the left hinge and it's causing grinding along on the edge of the computer. I have also noticed some bright spots on the bottom of my screen, specifically near that left side, that may or may not be caused by the loose hinge.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
Could HP actually help it's customers out?
This is the third issue i've had with this laptop. First wifi, then the screen, and now this. A pretty crapily built product if I do say so myself.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
