Hi --

I bought a MicroServer N40L and the Remote Access Card (615095-B21) for my home network and I'm having an odd problem with accessing the RAC card over the network. The user name and password is the default out-of-the-box.

I can access the card through SSH (using Terminal under OSX) but I can't seem to access the WebCLI with FireFox 9. It seems to attempt to log in, but then it just returns to the login screen. I'm assuming this is a "browser issue" because the SSH CLI works, but has anyone come across this before?

Thanks!

Rich

Ok, as a follow-up, I pulled out a generic XP machine with IE8 and it works just fine. Clearly the web interface doesn't like FireFox 9 on OS X. Maybe it has something to do with the Java runtime engine...don't know.

Stick with IE and it should be fine.

I'm having the same issue as you describe. I've managed to log in a couple of times with both Chrome and IE9 on Windows 7 but at the moment (for unknown reasons) I can't get past the login screen. I sometimes see the main control page flash up before being sent back to the login screen.

And I'm sometimes now getting an error saying the maximum number of connections have been exceeded 😞

I have does issues also some times. my biggest issue is that email sending not working within the rac interface anyone the same problem? I use DHCP and tried a internal and external smtp server ip address

Email works fine for me. I setup a GMail account specifically for this since I don't have an internal mail server, so the RAC will log into the account and send alert emails. The delay time is very short (send-to-receipt time).

I am having a very frustrating issue with the RAC in my newly acquired N40L.  I am able to login with no problems.  Email alerting is all fine.  But, periodically, when I click the link for the vKVM & vMedia, it dumps me straight back out to the login screen.  For instance, I was on it earlier this morning when the phone rang.  By the time I was done with my phone call, the session had obviously timed out, so I had to log back in again.  Now it's an hour later, and I still haven't been able to get back to the vKVM/vMedia page.  All other pages work fine.  I was even able to kill off the other three sessions that seem to have accumulated during this whole process.  I can also power cycle the N40L, and have tried rebooting the RAC itself.  I have also pulled the power cord out of the back to hard reset everything.

I am running Windows 7, with IE9.0.7 and Firefox 13.0.1.  Connecting with http/https makes no difference.  Behaves the same from both browsers.  I reflashed the RAC with firmware v1.2 (which it was already at) and that has changed nothing.

I guess I'll try rebooting my PC and see if that helps.

Well, rebooting my PC didn't change anything.  This is very frustrating.

In line with an earlier answer, I fired up my old XP laptop with IE8 and it worked like a champ.  Perhaps it's time for the firmware to be updated to support current browsers.
