HP PAVILION M6

The internet keeps sending me the " this page can't be displayed " to every website I try to go to even the home page.

My WiFi is connected to my laptop and the WiFi works on my phone and ipad but not my laptop.

I've tried trouble shooting as follows:

Wired connect nothing

Wireless connect nothing

Resetting my internet nothing

Checking all the settings but still nothing

Disabling the Anti-virus and fire wall still nothing

Cleaning, shredding and scanning still nothing

I tried to uninstalling Internet Explorer 11 it won't let me

I tried re-installing Internet Explorer 11 it won't let me

I tried an other version of Internet Explorer it says the latest version is already installed and won't let me

I tried Google Chrome still "Unable to connect to the internet"

I went into internet options -> advanced and unticked boxes still nothing

I restarted in safe mode and tried installing IE11 still nothing

 

Otherwise the HP Laptop works okay but with no internet, wireless network, no printing.

I am running OS MS Windows 7 and hopefully will run Internet Explorer 11.

 

Please help

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I saw your post regarding the problem connecting to the internet. I will be happy to help you with this problem. Have you tried connecting to a different network to see if the same thing happens? Let me start by getting the product number for your notebook so I know what we are working with. What do you have listed in your Device Manager under Network Adapters? Do you notice a yellow exclamation mark? If so right click it and to to Properties and let me know what is listed in Device Status. Have you done a virus scan?

 

This HP document Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet which has a couple of things you haven't tried yet. Below are a full generic steps to try as well.

 

Power cycle the network:

1. Shut down your notebook.
2. Unplug the power to your router.
3. Unplug the power to your modem.
4. Wait at least 45 seconds.
5. Plug in the modem, and wait for it to come back online.
6. Plug in the router, and wait for it to come back online.
7. Turn on your notebook, and test your connection.

Reset the TCP/IP settings:

1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.

Reset the winsock catalogue:

1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.
3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.
4. Restart your PC and test.

Hi I have the same problem with my laptop,it was working fine till a few weeks back then just stopped letting me on internet explorer or google chrome I have tried all of the above: first one done nothing second on said
Resetting interface,ok
Resetting neighbor,ok
Resetting path,ok
Resetting ,failed
Access denied.

Third option says : the system cannot find the file specified

Please help 🙏 I need this laptop for my course work 😕
