Was this problem ever resolved??????????????
I have a DV6-2155dx 8GB RAM 500GB disk running Windows 10.
Aftermarket battery or the original give the same result --the machine hangs up and won't boot until I remove the battery.
HP -- Please help.

My Envy m6 had been crashing more fequently when running just on the battery, so I mostly run it on AC. Today it just shut down when plugged in and would not restart. Following a procedure I searched onmy tablet, I removed the battery, did a hard reset and plugged it back in (battery still out), and the laptop powered up properly. When I put the battery back in its slot, the laptop immediately shut down. This battery is @ 6 months old, replaced when the previous one was doing the same sudden shutdown routine (always with plenty of charge showing on the meter.) What do I do now?

@DeeSeeGee Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
I'd be glad to help you 🙂
As I Understand the laptop won't boot with the battery installed,
Don't worry, though, as I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:
Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
Also, Go through them all and let me know what you have determined is causing the issue.
The first document has the most relevant troubleshooting if your battery appears to be not charging.

Thank you for replying,
I understand the steps didn't help you as the computer shutdown,
I recommend you to do these steps without the battery as you've mentioned that it worked fine with only the adapter connected,
Let me know if that works,
if the issue persists, however, I would request you to contact the HP support for a hardware service: Click here for details.

Unfortunately the "click here" link gives a 404 (PAGE NOT FOUND) error or a blank page.
Perhaps that's appropriate for an issue about "how the battery works" ... it doesn't!
