I personally would not pay to have it diagnosed ...repairs cost plus diagnosis will be likely 100 or more US dollars.   instead I would buy a new one    many selling in the US for 250 or less plenty fine for web browsing, email and other Microsoft tasks like excel, powerpoint, etc.    asus, dell, lenovo, toshiba maybe more reliable products vs. hp   just my opinion.

likely dead,,,unless someone else has other ideas to suggest to you.   I personally would not bother fixing it ...instead replace it with a dell, asus, lenovo ,,toshiba  for two hundred and fifty dollars or less these days with ample performance    be sure to get a minimum of 4GB of ram...  good luck

Have tried all tricks was wondering, Becasue i cannot remember any of them, Is there a way to power on an Hp laptop without  the power button working.

I am 100% sure it is the power button, everything else works

a bad power button is possible ...you must feel fairly confident that it could be bad.   only way to confirm it is a bad power on button is to basically disassemble the top part of your laptop to get access to the power button.  watch a youtube video to see how to access your power button for the model ack of HP laptop you have.   once you have accessed the button and its wiring you want to try and temporarily short across the two wires to mimic the action of the switch when it is pushed when still functional.    if the pc comes on   then you have confirmed that it was faulty.

post back with your results to share with the communi y if indeed it was faulty.

If these ideas don't work, you may have a bad power button, like I did! Looks easy to replace, I've ordered one.

I've also tries every single trick mentioned here. However, nothing seems to be happening. 😞 What could be the cause of this?

have you confirmed the ac power adapter works and or the battery is charged and it still refuses to turn on. ???  also do any lights come on on the keyboard.??  any fan noise?????   do you think the power jack is not faulty?  and finally can you be sure your power button is working????  too many things could be at fault.   give us more info. about  what you have ruled out with some troubleshooting.

what is your laptop model and how old is it.??

as you can see this is a fairly common problem with HP laptops.   kinda makes you want to steer clear of them in the future. and their tech. support to this forum is very poor

@JessicaNorwick did you ever figure out what your problem was? Im having the same problem.

so sad that we have had to ask amongst ourselves blindly on this forum for ideas from other posters on what they have had success with for solving this very bad design flaw to so many HP laptops.   and where are the HP moderators who should be offering all of us some corporate technical and or business help.   no wonder HP is laying off thousands of employees as of today in the news.   their laptops are so unreliable because of their poor fundamental design.   how about feeling proud of your products adn offer to make things right with so many of grabbing for consumer solutions and good troubleshooting ideas.
