oops  just noticed you said it was a desktop  .......oh well.....first off if its a Dell XPS, you are on the wrong website since it is not an HP.  secondly ,,,I have never heard of a Dell laptop having these same power on issues.   how old is the laptop and if still in warranty ...send it back to Dell for warranty repair.

 

if it is out of warranty ,,,did it shutdown last time as usual or anything abnormal about performance or shutdown?  did you install any new hardware or software before this failure to turn on occurred?  have you tried resetting your cmos battery ...this may help unlock it from a deep hibernation.

 

good luck and contact dell via their website or call them for tech. support   even if they want to charge you it will be worth it...an xps is pretty pricey.

My laptop is 2 years old I have the same problem that my laptop is not turning on I dried my laptop and removed my battery and plunged inn the adaptor but its not getting on please help me
