Hey, how did you solve the problem?

Thank you so much! I tried taking out the battery holding the power button for 30 seconds an plugged in the charger. And it worked! My question is, now that its working, is okay to put the battery back in? Thanks!

yes   but be sure to disable all the hibernate and sleep settings    set them to never.   HP has a hw/sw flaw that sometimes will not allow your laptop to come out of hibernate or sleep mode...it locks up    dont buy HP again   their h/w and software designs are not good ...they tend to over heat and key components will fail due to poor heat rejection allowing solder joints in the motherboard to open up.   pray that it does not randomly go and stay asleep on you from now on.

Katelyn. I assumed you referred to the main laptop battery. Not the cmos battery! Glad the procedure worked for you

Thank you for your help it worked, but can the laptop run without a battery? And I guess I need to buy a new battery then?

Thanks

Recommend you buy a new laptop. But different brand instead of the new battery😊 Like dell or to shiva. Much more reliable designs!
