Hello @belacom,

Welcome back to the HP Support Forums!

I came across your post about the Virtualization Technology, and wanted to help!

You will need to enable Virtualization Technology in your BIOS.  If you cannot enable Virtualization Technology in your BIOS, then try checking for an updated version of your BIOS.  Please review the following document to assist you, if needed:

HP Notebook PCs - Install and Run Virtual PC and XP Mode for Windows 7

After updating the BIOS, you may still not have the option for Virtualization Technology.  If that is the case, then unfortunately, you will not be able to access that function for your product.

if your cpu doesn't support virtualization you can only use oracle one.

I've got the same problem with an old laptop. virtualbox gui haven't got an option to disable hardware acceleration.

Open virtual machine file "name_of_the_machine.vbox" in text editor

find lines

<HardwareVirtEx enabled="true"/>
<HardwareVirtExNestedPaging enabled="true"/>
<HardwareVirtExVPID enabled="true"/>
<HardwareVirtExUX enabled="true"/>

<HardwareVirtExLargePages enabled="true"/>
<HardwareVirtForce enabled="false"/>

change "true" to "false"

I looked for the file to edit but could not find it. Is it a hidden file or can you give me a name to search for on my C drive. Thank you

Create virtual machine.

Open VirtualBox - > menu "File" -> "Preferences" -> tab "General"

See the path. It's a property called "Default Machine Folder".
