Product: HP 650 Notebook
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

     Need to reintstall DVD/CD drive for my HP 650 Notebook.   It past the 10 year limit of assistance from the Support Department.

Hi,

Your DVD/CD drive should be plug and play and should be recognized automatically by Windows. On the site for your drivers there is only an update for the firmware of the optical drive (dating Nov 2012).

use driver for windows 8.

When you go to device manager do you see the dvd drive in the list? If yes you can try to right-click on it and update the software. If not, try reseating the dvd drive in the laptop.
