HP Pavillion dv6-3025dx
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
Hi, I recently reinstalled my OS and even after reinstalling all the drivers and updates my laptop doesn't have the "sleep" option from the start menu.
An ideas? Thanks!

Hi,
Are you sure it's from Start Menu ? It must be from another Menu as shown:
Regards.

Hi
- For notebook computers:In the System Settings window, configure the desired behavior of the Power button, the Sleep button, and display panel lid for when it is on battery power and for when it is plugged in.
- Click Save changes , and then restart the computer.
- Click Start
, and click Sleep from the Windows 7 Shut down menu to see if the issue still exists:
- If the issue still exists, follow these steps to disable hybrid sleep:
- Use the steps in this section to select High Performance from Power Options.
- Click Change plan settings , and then select Change Advanced Power Settings .Figure 17: Advanced Power Settings
- Click the plus sign (+ ) next to Sleep.
- Click the plus sign (+ ) next to Allow hybrid sleep.
- Select Off from the drop-down menu.
- Click OK .

I forgot to mention that I have already tried the above solution but there's no option to enable or turn on the sleep mode.
And yeah, I meant, when you go to the start menu, then from the power options to the right, there's no sleep or hybernate modes...
Thanks.

Still no luck with the above post, 😞 All of regedit and policies check out.
I found the following thread:
I've checked a list of my previous drivers and I"m indeed missing the "DeviceVM IO Drivers" from my device manager. I've updated all my drivers form the HP webside and my graphics card is also updated. Any idea where I can get the "DeviceVM IO Drivers"?

I have same problem, sleep option from star menu is disabled .... same in POWER OPTIONS ... no sleep mode options !! It looks like some driver problem to me ... i have one error in Device Manager .. it's VGA Adapter ... but i tried to do update on driver but final message was that "the best driver is already installed. What i did, i installed Windows 7 ultimate from scratch ... not the HP Restore !! So i was missing some driver .. i installed them .. that's all.

The problem is definitely that you do not have the correct video driver installed. You need to download the latest version from your notebooks Software and Drivers page or from the video card manufacturer.

Great to hear! Thanks for letting us know it worked.
