Notebook Stream 11-r015wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
My Notebook Stream 11-r015wm with a Windows 10 operating system (which I have had for less than two months) went into sleep mode while I was away from it. When I returned I was unable to either wake the computer back up or shut it down. The screen is black and the power button is lit up as though it is still in sleep mode but as I've said I cannot get the computer to respond to anything I try. I have ALREADY attempted a hard reset but even after nearly 2 minutes of holding the power button down, it will not shut down. I do recall that it was wanting to update something shortly before this happened. Is there anything I can do to get it to shut down, restart, or wake up, short of sending it in? I need the computer for my studies and only have the weekend to fix this before my classes resume.

Does pressing the screen decrease or increase brightness buttons do anything? Some Intel N series processors have a problem with PCs returning from hibernate mode.

No it doesn't do anything. The screen is totally off.

You can only try the solutions listed here:

Unfortunately none of these options worked. I will see if maybe just letting the battery die does anything for it. Thanks for the info though.

Yes, leave it unplugged from the power supply until the battery fully discharges and then reconnect it and attempt to boot it.  That has worked for some others here with the Stream notebook.
